Damn bro, I made sure the garage door opener I have has a light touch and auto backup, I have tested it. I also added a sticky backed felt fabric on the underside of the garage door as I have been paranoid of this very thing happening to me.

I would be plugging those holes up until it gets replaced. Don’t want another rust gate issue.
