Hi there. I’ve got an issue with the scheduled charging on the car. I have set it to start charging at 9am (to capture the sun!) but it never starts/ wakes up. As soon as I unlock the doors it starts charging. It’s set to stop charging at 5pm and that works fine (ie it stops) but I can’t seem to get it to start as per the schedule. Anyone got any ideas ? The charger is a ZJBeny controlled by charge hq to use excess solar.

Atto3 has specific issues with scheduled charging. It won't remain in a state where it's ready to accept a charge in order to protect the 12v battery. BYD will hopefully fix in a future update but for now, the only workaround is to interact with your car in some way, or to set the reserve charging time on the atto to a similar time to the scheduled charge on your charger.

I found the same, the car goes to sleep as it looks like when there is no sun the charger doesn't keep the car idle. One solution (I haven't tested it) would be to switch off the "Extreme Mode" so that the charger is always active but the car won't charge if not scheduled . The inconvenient is that during the day if there is not enough solar it will still be charging at 1.2KW from the grid.
The solution I got to is in the morning at around 9AM I unlock the car with the APP, no need to lock and unlock if the car is in the garage, and it starts charging for the day.👍

If you have set the car to start at 9am then your charge Hq must be always on, either via auto and solar tracking+grid or charge now.

The trick for the car to charge/wake up is for the BENY to be supplying AT THE TIME OF YOU PLUGGING IT IN. The Atto then opens a contactor in the BMS until the car timer triggers.

In your case you could have an always charge say 6am to 9am on charge hq, if you plug in at these times which means the Atto will open the contactor and then your car will initiate at 9am as per car timer.

The EVSE (Beny charger) needs to remain "on" when the car is plugged in. If you can, set the minimum charge rate for when there is no sun (6A is enough). The car schedule will remain active without charging yet, and simply start charging at the 9am start time set in the Atto schedule.

I just plug in when the sun's out. Easy as.

I’ve got the same issue with my EO Mini Universal Smart Charger. The only way I can get the car to wake up for a scheduled charge is to unlock / lock at the required time. It’s crazy. My plan B is a Kasa 10 amp Smart Plug. I charge between Midnight and 6 am with OvO Energy every night. So far so good. I just use the Smart Charger manually if I need a faster charge.

Update : I played with the settings on the car (turned a couple off and on again - smart charging etc) and for the last 2 mornings it has worked fine - starting charging at 9am without me having to unlock.
