Has anyone tried sleeping in the car with the cooled air switched on in a camp site before? What is the consumption like

If you've got the car on for the aircon, you'll need to work out how to disconnect the running lights as well won't you?

BYD firmware engineers please make a 'park mode' to turn of the lighting when stationary. It shouldn't be difficult?

Depends on exterior temperature.

Can be anywhere from 1-3kW.

At 3kW on a fully battery, you're looking at max of 20 hours.

Overnight - without sun loading the A/C would cycle frequently - I would suggest the average power consumption would be far less than 1kw/hr (I am a Fridge mechanic by trade)

Why not test it yourself. Put your car in the Sun on Thursday (hottest day this week) and see how much power you use over a specific time.

If this is how you're camping then I'm afraid you're doing it wrong 😂

Get a powered site. Run the AC all night and charge.

I was resting in the car one warm day it is about 24 outside. It consumed about 1kwh after 45mins of air con used. I set at 20 degrees. So comfy.
